Our Values
- A commitment to prayer - We believe that
prayer is our most fundamental demonstration of our
worship and dependence on the Lord. Therefore, the
ministries and activities of our church will be
characterized by prayer in their conception, planning,
and execution.
- A commitment to biblical leadership - We
believe that the biblical mandate for leadership is a
plurality of shepherd elders who oversee, lead, and care
for the local church. Therefore, we the elders strive to
shepherd the flock following the biblical pattern, and to
be involved in developing future leaders for our church.
- A commitment to biblical worship - We
believe that our worship service is to focus on God and
not man. Therefore, our goal is to provide a positive
balance of content and experience rooted in unpressured,
casual, but a reverent atmosphere. We seek to combine the
best of traditional and contemporary styles and appeal to
all ages.
- A commitment to relevant Biblical exposition
- We believe that the most effective way to carry out the
equipping ministry of the believer is through preaching
and teaching God's Word at all levels. Therefore, we are
committed to expository preaching that is true to the Biblical text and in touch with the needs of our day.
- A commitment to authentic community -
Programs don't love people, people do. Therefore, we are
committed to developing caring relationships, devotion to
one another, sharing needs, accountability among peers,
and extending mercy to the hurting. We believe that the
small group ministry is the most effective means of
building relationships, stimulating spiritual growth, and
developing leaders.
- A commitment to evangelism that is personal and
global - Lost people matter to God, and
therefore ought to matter to the church. Most lost people
need a friend who will love them rather than someone who
will condemn them. Therefore, we are committed to
encouraging every believer to be involved in relational,
lifestyle evangelism. Further, missions is our constant
outward focus. We give approximately 15% of our annual
budget to missions in support of our missionary families.
- A commitment to our children's and youth
ministries - We believe that the future of the
church rests in the hands of our children. Therefore, we
see the building of a strong children's and youth
ministry as a means of assisting parents in the raising of young people who ~ walk faithfully with Jesus, and make
an impact for Him in their generation.
- A commitment to lay ministry - We
believe that the primary responsibility of the elders and
teachers in the local church is to prepare God's people
for the work of ministry. Therefore, we seek to encourage
lay initiation, leadership, and responsibility in the
various ministries of the church.
- A commitment to focus on grace -
God's unmerited grace and love alone - alone not our effort or
accomplishment - is responsible for producing eternal life, freedom from
sin's control, and lasting change in an individual's character. We are
committed to focusing on that grace, and fostering an environment that
reflects it in our lives and relationships.
