Shape 'n Train
Children’s Ministries Infants-5th Grade
“Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
We want to foster within each child the desire to know God and walk faithfully with Jesus, and give children the desire and ability to make an impact for Him in their generation.
- To support the family in their responsibility for the spiritual nurturing and growth of their child.
- To provide godly men and women who are adequately trained to serve as positive role models while they minister to children.
- To provide a safe, secure, loving environment for children to participate in and where parents feel comfortable leaving their children.
- To help children feel a warm sense of belonging to their church family and to insure each child feels welcomed and wanted.
- For each child to know that God is real and that a personal relationship with Him gives meaning to life.
- To aid each child in accepting Jesus Christ and developing a dynamic relationship with Him.
- To help each child develop a lifestyle that is built on his/her relationship with Jesus Christ.
- To help each child understand that the Bible is relevant and that growth in biblical knowledge results in positive changes in attitudes, action and life-style.
- To help children grow in their relationships with other believers and non-churched friends.
- To provide children the opportunity and direction to participate in ministry.
Sunday Morning Worship
Nursery
Our nursery department at MPC is dedicated to serving parents by providing a safe, clean and loving place for them to leave their children. We recognize that it requires significant trust to leave precious little ones in another’s care. We desire to build and maintain that trust in order for parents to be able to serve and be involved in other areas in this body. At this early age, the goal is for children to be introduced to and understand the concepts of “God made me” and “God loves me.”

Preschool
MPC recognizes the value and importance of children learning and understanding the basic principles of the gospel at an early age. Our preschool department uses two different curriculums to teach children the fundamentals of the Christian faith. Through Bible stories and fun activities, we want our children to learn that “God made the world,” “God loves the world,” “God sent Jesus to die and pay the price for our sins,” and that “Jesus is God.”

School Age
In Proverbs 22:6, God tells parents to “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” At MPC, we are committed to coming along beside parents to help them meet that goal. Through Children’s Church and age-appropriate Sunday School classes, our desire is for our children to continue to build on the fundamentals of our faith as well as to learn to worship our Creator and Savior. Our focus includes missions, prayer, the books of the Bible and the attributes of God.

Sunday Evening Clubs
During the School Year
Pioneer Clubs, Treeclimbers, and Stockade are programs designed to facilitate a combination of content, fun and the development of adult-child relationships for children ages 2 through 5th grade. Children participate in a combination of games, Bible lessons, crafts and group time. Our nursery is available for those involved in Sunday evenings at MPC.
Summer Camp
Recognizing that summer camps can be a key point in coming to faith in Christ and in growing in one’s relationship with Christ, we place a strong emphasis on our 2nd-5th graders spending one week out of the summer together at “CAMP”. This not only provides a great opportunity for evangelism and discipleship, but also for our children to grow significantly in their MPC relationships. Children are encouraged to invite friends. A Fundraiser is provided in the fall to help with the cost of camp and scholarships are also available for those in need.
