The music ministry at Melonie Park is designed to lead the congregation in worship through singing, and to offer a way for people in the church to exercise their musical gifts for the edification of the church family and the glory of God. Corporate worship services are augmented with special music periodically, incorporating choir, group, and solo musical pieces. A blended approach to worship through music is used to aid the congregation in recognition of the goodness of God and praise for His power and provision. This blended selection of musical genres cannot be labeled as “traditional” or “contemporary,” but instead “worship through music.” In addition to Sunday morning, the church family periodically meets together for special Sunday evening musical praise and worship services.
The Melonie Park Choir rehearses on Sunday afternoons during the Fall and Spring, with choir presentations occurring throughout the semester and during the celebrations of Christmas and Easter. The Melonie Park music worship team practices on Saturday afternoon. The choir and worship team are always interested in new members and using one’s specific musical gifts for the glory of God.
