Children’s Summer Camp - Pray!

Camp is THIS week!  Pray for our kids who leave for Ft. Lone Tree Camp on Monday. Not only do we want it to be a fun time for everyone, but pray for open hearts and that the kids would really understand the messages and lessons that will be taught. Pray for the counselors and teachers as they work with our children to be available, prepared and sensitive towards our kids when they are asked tough questions. Pray for the counselors’ endurance, stamina and excellence as the summer is coming to a close in these last few weeks left of camp. Pray for all these things for Cindy Park as well; she will be going as a counselor with our children.

Women's Retreat... this Fall

Starting this year, the Women's Retreat has been moved to October. Mark your calendars now for October 8th, 9th and 10th and plan on spending some time enjoying God's workmanship at Ceta Canyon this Fall. If you have children, make sure you coordinate childcare now with your spouse to ensure that you will have a free weekend!

Women's Re-connect Dinner

Ladies, save this date (August 27th) for the Women’s Reconnect Dinner at 6:30 PM. This will be a preview of the Fall and Spring women’s activities that are being organized. There will be dinner, a speaker, then dessert with some fellowship time to get to meet some of our newer ladies or catch up with what is going on with your friends. There is a suggested donation of $8.00 to cover food costs. There will be childcare, but we need you to make reservations for them by signing up on the bulletin or calling the church office.

PDO & Tuesday School

Registration is continuing for this fall and spring (2010-2011).  We also have openings for substitute teachers (this is a paid position).  Call Sandy @ 797-2401 or check on our website for more information at www.meloniepark.org.

Nursery Coordinator News

Susie Stewart has officially stepped down and we are operating without a Nursery Coordinator! We are in the process of evaluating this position and job description, and in the interim Cindy Park will operate as Nursery Coordinator. Volunteers teachers are needed for the summer and sign-up sheets are posted outside of each room or just indicate on the tear-off that you would like to help!

Library News (Parents/School-Age Kids!)

Are your children required to read AR (Accelerated Reader) books for school?  Did you know the church library has over 300 books labeled with AR levels and quiz numbers?  Look for the books with colored dots on the spine which corresponds to the reading level.  A chart on the wall explains the color and grade level relationship.  The quiz number can be found on a sticker inside the front cover of the book.  If you have any questions, talk to Kim Frick  855-6225 or Julie Haverdink 797-1036.

Worship Team Opportunities

If you sing and/or play an instrument, and would like to serve from time to time with the worship team, please contact Mark Hardy at the church office, or write a note on the bulletin tab to put in the offering plate.

Will you help brew coffee or lock up the church?

We also need several volunteers to help with brewing the coffee on Sunday mornings and to lock up the church after the Sunday morning service.  If you enjoy your cup of coffee on Sunday mornings, you are the perfect person to help with the coffee brewing ministry.  If you like to visit and fellowship after church is over, helping to lock up the church would be the perfect job for you!  Please help us with these important ministries!  You would do it a couple of times a year.  We are thanking God for you already!  Please sign up on the bulletin tab!
