The student ministry at Melonie Park Church exists to provide opportunity for 6th-12th grade students to KNOW Jesus, LOVE Jesus, SERVE Jesus and ENJOY each other. We want students to be connected to Christ, the church and each other. We want them to see progress in their spiritual lives as they learn and live out what it means to know Jesus, love Jesus, serve Jesus and enjoy each other within our congregational community.

Like the church, we have a wide array of students who are involved in our ministry. We offer various programs to meet the needs of those particular people at different times. So if someone isn’t a Christian we want them understand what it means to be a Christian and to consider developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If someone is a new believer, we want to help them become mature by encouraging them and teaching them various habits that have helped others grow spiritually. If a student is maturing in Christ we want them to continue growing by experiencing service to the church and the world.

We strive to have a holistic approach toward the spiritual maturity of students as we share life together, encourage one another, and connect on a heart level as we strive to share God’s truth. (1 Thessalonians 2:8)

Sunday morning is intended to provide a time of worship and discipleship in age appropriate ways while fully supporting the same effort during the church wide worship service.

Small groups are where students are most likely to form lasting relationships with each other and involved adults. For our high school students, these opportunity is offered on Sunday nights as they meet in small groups. Small group meetings are the driving element for our Jr. High students on Sunday night but these meetings also include elements of fun activities and discussion based teaching.

Student Activities are offered throughout the week as indicated below. Most activities and group meetings take place in the Youth Room which is located in the basement of the church.

In addition to consistent local group meetings, students are encouraged to participate in retreats, mission trips, prayer events, fun events. Students are encouraged to be involved in a variety of activities in order to develop lasting relationships and share life together.
